Disengaging With Why
18.02.25

I have read and heard many times that there is no cause, no why, no reason, for anything. However, this has not been embodied. What I do realise now though is that there is no real joy in having an explanation for anything.

Receiving an explanation as to why the sky is blue only satiates mental curiosity and does not facilitate the experiencing of connection / oneness with sky. I experience "sky" by being with "sky"; the "being with" is a far higher quality experience than experiencing curiosity and satiating it.

Often, it is asked: "Why am I feeling this way?" or "Why is this happening?" or "Why is this not happening?". I notice that these questions are only asked when the "this" is presumed negative. Letting go of the assumption that the "this" is negative relieves us of the need to know why. We do not ask: "Why am I happy?" or "Why did I win the lottery?" - we just experience and enjoy it.

Following a "why" thought does not lead to joy - it clouds it. Becoming aware of this makes engaging with explanations unattractive.
